Marketing is a huge investment for any business, and for an entrepreneur, it’s one of the most important investments when you’re first starting out. Doing it well is critical to growing your bottom line, so sometimes it makes more sense to delegate and outsource.

Yes, outsourcing is probably one of the hardest things any entrepreneur could do but it’s better than overwhelming yourself with a mass of marketing tasks that ultimately weigh you down and compromise your ability to do what you do best: grow your business.

So, what are the marketing tasks you should outsource to build a better business? There are SO many but let’s start off with the top 5:

#1: Blogging

Blogging has a lot of moving parts. It requires a ton of time and you must be committed to maintaining the schedule, publishing new content regularly, responding to blog comments, the list goes on. While outsourcing your blog writing may be hard and something you’re not ready to do, there are other blog tasks that should be delegated:

  • Developing blog topics and titles
  • Formatting blog posts
  • Proofreading and copy editing blog posts
  • Installing plugins and updates
  • Backing up your blog

#2: Designing Your Social Media Profiles

When it comes to your social media platforms, cohesiveness is critical. Not only that, but having branded images that are unique, eye-catching and the right size for each social platform is key to having a professional social media presence. Assign this marketing task to a professional graphic designer.

#3: Creating Visual Content

In the world of marketing, having visual content is essential. Beautiful, eye-catching graphics takes serious time to create and if you’re not comfortable working in the world of graphic design, this is definitely a marketing task that should be outsourced. When I create a feature graphic for each blog post, I also create graphics for the social media outlets I’ll be promoting my content on – that takes time, at least 30 minutes for each graphic. If you’re not efficient in graphic design, again this would be something worth outsourcing.

#4: Infographic Creation

Again, another piece of visual content that’s critical to your marketing strategy. Readers love infographics and if done well, they can become a valuable content marketing piece. This is something that is worth outsourcing from the very beginning – research and design can easily eat away at hours of your day.

#5: Curating Content for Social Media

In order to grow your social media platforms, you constantly have to find new content to share with your networks. Curating content takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. This is a marketing task that could easily be outsourced to a virtual assistant if you give them specific instructions on what content to curate and how.

Those were just my top 5 marketing tasks I could think of delegating, but every entrepreneur is different.
